Retailers Can Never Know Too Much About Their Customers

According to the Global Retail Manufacturers and Importers Survey, 43.2 percent of survey respondents said that the spring 2012 shopping season will surpass last year’s, and another 40 percent believe that the summer 2012 season will perform better year-over-year. With shopping up retailers can never know too much about their business, as their growth depends heavily on knowing their customers. In short the more data they collect from customers, the more efficiently they can run their business.

POS (point-of-sale) systems help retailers increase profits in many ways. Quicker, more reliable checkouts mean less manpower is needed. Sales reports allow them to maximize inventory levels and control costs. Built-in loyalty programs encourage higher ticket averages and repeat business from customers.

To stay competitive in a fast-changing, cost-conscious marketplace, retailers need solutions that maximize their investments in business systems such as a POS system. Combining video to POS and other business system data gives retailers the information and power needed to respond to quickly changing market dynamics. By offering retailers specific business intelligence data that connects to the back-end visual context allows retailers to get the full picture of what is going on in their stores and optimize operations. Retailers are able to understand consumer activity and operational processes to more strategically optimize their stores.

While video surveillance is a basic component of most retail stores, the recorded video is rarely utilized. Managed video solutions that seamlessly integrate to business systems enable easy search and analysis. The combined benefits make this solution the most comprehensive and cost effective.
