Envysion’s management team has a strong history together over the past decade and has a proven track record in delivering positive results in both public and privately held organizations.

Matt Steinfort, President and CEO


Matt is responsible for both the strategic direction and the day-to-day operation of Envysion. Prior to Envysion, Matt was SVP of Corporate Strategy at ICG Communications and held a variety of executive roles at Level 3 Communications, including VP of Consumer Voice, VP of Strategy and VP of Finance. Matt’s early career included stints at management consultancy Bain & Company and IT consultancy Cambridge Technology Partners. Matt received a bachelor’s in civil engineering and operations research from Princeton University and an MBA from the MIT-Sloan School of Management.

Robert Hagens, CTO


Rob is responsible for Envysion’s technical direction and for the development of Envysion’s managed video service. Prior to Envysion, Rob was SVP of Network Engineering at Level 3 Communications, where he was instrumental in designing and building one of the largest Internet and VoIP networks in the world. Before that, Rob was Director of Internet Engineering and the founding engineer responsible for MCI’s Internet backbone. He was also a Senior Engineer at Advanced Network and Services (ANS) before most of us knew what that Internet was. Rob has a bachelor’s in biology from Carleton College and a master’s in Computer sciences from the University of Wisconsin/Madison.

Gregg Hodges, COO

Gregg is responsible for all revenue generating, professional service and customer delivery functions at Envysion. Gregg has a solid history of working with growth oriented companies whereby he combines leadership with strategic vision to deliver high performance results. Prior to joining Envysion, Gregg was COO at Digitalsmiths, an early stage, venture backed technology company that is a thought leader around search and discovery of video assets. There he played a major role in a dramitic increase in year-over-year revenue expansion while instilling efficiencies and effective process around strategic vision. Prior to Digitalsmiths, Gregg was a member of the executive team at iBAHN, a venture backed international leader of IPTV/Broadband technologies to the hospitality industry. As President and COO for more than six years, he played an integral role in the company’s more than 200% revenue growth, as well as assisting in the creation and deployment of successful global expansion strategies. Gregg has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management from the University of Colorado and is a CPA.

Stu Lucko, CFO

Stu oversees Envysion’s financial performance and is responsible for all aspects of financial operations, as well as strategic financial planning and execution. Prior to joining Envysion, Stu was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations at Jabber Inc., where he led the successful sale of the company to Cisco Systems. Before Jabber, Stu worked at Webb Interactive Services, a publicly traded company, as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller and held several senior leadership positions with a $300 million privately held Arizona real estate company. Stu has a bachelor’s of business administration from the University of St. Francis and earned his CPA in 1988.

Michael Coar, Vice President of Platform Delivery

Michael is responsible for designing and implementing innovations in building an industry leading platform. In this role, he oversees platform delivery functions and CPE fulfillment, including customer support and the development of advanced processes and systems to help the company evolve its MVaaS platform.
Prior to joining Envysion, Coar was vice president of client services at New Global Telecom, where he was responsible for service delivery, service assurance, billing, and vendor management functions and managed growth from 2,500 seats under management to over 250,000 during his time with the company. Before New Global Telecom, Coar worked at Level 3 Communications as director of product management for Enterprise Voice Services focused on enhancing the quote to cash process while growing the customer base from approximately 2,000 seats in March 2004 to over 12,000 seats by December 2004.

Carlos Perez, VP Product and Marketing

Carlos is responsible for charting the direction of Envysion’s differentiated and market leading managed video services and manages Envysion’s strategic and tactical marketing to targeted segments and customers. Prior to joining Envysion, he held a variety of positions at Level 3 Communications in product management, marketing and strategic planning, including Vice President of Product Management. Before Level 3, Carlos worked in management consulting and in marketing and business development roles with a number of venture funded start-ups. Carlos received a bachelor’s of science in marketing and management from Boston College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Dan Caruso, Executive Chairman


Dan is currently president and CEO of the Zayo Group, as well as a board member of GTS Telecom. Between 2004 and 2006, he was president and CEO of ICG Communications. Dan was one of the founding executives of Level 3 Communications, where he was part of the leadership team from inception in 1997 through 2003. Prior to Level 3, Dan was a member of the MFS Communications senior management team. He began his career at Illinois Bell/Ameritech.

Dan has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a board member of Colorado Uplift, a charity that helps Denver’s inner city youth stay focused on school and personal development, and the author of the BearonBusiness blog. Email Dan.

David Gorman, Advisor


As an advisor for Envysion, David provides the company with invaluable loss prevention expertise and professional insight on how to best leverage Envysion’s managed video solutions for retail loss prevention, as well as consultation for Envysion customers. David draws on more than 25 years of experience in loss prevention, risk control and quality assurance to strategically advise the company on delivering bottom line profitability for clients.

An internationally recognized retail loss prevention consultant, David spent 21 years with Wal-Mart where he served as Director of Internal Audit and Vice President of Loss Prevention, Risk Control and Quality Assurance. Upon leaving Wal-Mart he founded David Gorman & Associates to help retailers and suppliers enhance earnings and sales through improved performance.

David is a member of the Loss Prevention Foundation and the ASIS International Retail Loss Prevention Council. In addition, he was a contributing author Retail Crime, Security, and Loss Prevention—an Encyclopedic Reference (Copyright 2008, Elsevier Inc.). David received a bachelor’s in business administration from Southern Illinois University in 1972.
